Below are some aspects of my classroom that can be used on a daily basis!
Daily Agenda and Objectives
Upon arriving in my classroom, students expect to find out exactly what our agenda is for the day and what our objectives are on the board.
Learning Goals and Essential Questions
Each and every day in the classroom, I used all of the boards in the classroom to show the students their goals for the day and the essential questions they would be able to answer during class. The essential questions were copied into their notebooks daily and referred to as a formative assessment during class or a diagnostic assessment the following day.
At the beginning of the year, students brainstorm classroom rules in order to be actively involved in creating them. Students will feel the responsibility and respond to the rules they created for their classroom.
Students are reminded each day after the bell ringer about the short term and long term goals for the class.
When a student misses a day, they know where to find anything they miss while they are out! This makes transitions the classroom environment run like a well oiled machine!
